One-Third Down: Another Editing Round Conquered!
There’s a certain feeling of accomplishment that comes with hitting milestones, even in the sometimes-grueling world of writing and editing. As of this morning, I am thrilled to announce that I am one-third of the way through ANOTHER round of edits on my latest crime novel! 💻🥂
This particular manuscript has been quite the journey, undergoing several significant re-writes since its inception. Every author knows the dance: write, re-write, cut, expand, re-write again. It’s a process of chipping away at the stone until the true sculpture emerges. There were moments of doubt, stretches of intense focus, and breakthroughs that felt like magic.
But I can finally say, with genuine excitement, that I am (finally! finally!) happy with the story. It’s reached a point where the characters feel alive, the plot twists are sharp, and the mystery truly sings. There’s a confidence in the narrative now that wasn’t quite there before, and that’s a testament to every single word rearranged, every sentence polished, and every scene refined.
My deepest hope, of course, is that you, my future readers, will be just as captivated by it as I am. This novel has been a labor of love, and knowing it’s getting closer to being out in the world is an incredible feeling. The remaining two-thirds of this editing round await, but reaching this marker definitely calls for a celebratory clink (of coffee, for now!). 💜
